JioPhone 5G likely to launch on this date

In addition to these rumored specifications, the JioPhone 5G is speculated to come equipped with a dual-camera setup on the rear, possibly featuring a primary sensor of around 13 megapixels along with a secondary sensor for depth sensing. On the front, there might be a modest selfie camera to cater to users’ photography needs.

The smartphone is anticipated to run on a custom version of Android, likely optimized for Jio’s ecosystem of services and applications. With 5G connectivity capabilities, users could experience faster download and streaming speeds, enabling smoother online experiences and better support for emerging technologies.

As for the battery, the JioPhone 5G might house a reasonably sized battery to ensure decent usage time, given the power efficiency of the Snapdragon 480 chipset. The operating system and software optimizations are expected to contribute to better overall battery performance.

An 8-megapixel front camera will be featured for selfies. On the back, a dual-camera system comprising a 13-megapixel main sensor and a 2-megapixel macro sensor will be equipped.

As far as price is concerned, the JioPhone 5G is likely to cost under Rs 10,000 (~$121). Hence, it is expected to arrive as the cheapest 5G phone in India. A recent report claimed that the device could be made available for purchase in the last quarter of 2023.
