The 100 finest regional meals from around the world for 2022 have been released by TasteAtlas, the international food atlas.

These are the top dishes and cuisines for this year as determined by more than 100,000 reviews of 15,000 different delicacies from 195 different nations.

With a 4.92 average rating, Japanese kar has been deemed the world’s best traditional cuisine. Picanha (4.86), a dish from Brazil, is ranked second for the second year in a row. It is followed by the straightforward Amêijoas à Bulho Pato dish from Portugal (4.859). Tangbao and Guotie, two Chinese dumplings, are ranked fourth and fifth on the list of 2022’s Best Dishes, respectively.

The world’s top cuisine

The best-rated dishes, snacks, and beverages from each nation’s top-rated categories were averaged out to create the top 10 list of global cuisines. To be included in this year’s ranking, 95 countries had to have enough food products and reliable ratings.

Italy came in first place on the global list of the top cuisines in the world for 2022, followed by Greece and Spain in the second and third spots, respectively. According to audience votes for ingredients, meals, and beverages, India came in fifth, with Japanese cuisine taking the top spot.

According to the TasteAtlas Awards 2022 findings, India received 4.54 points overall, while among more than 400 different dishes and ingredients received the highest ratings. Some of these rated items are

With a 4.72 average rating, Italian food is rated first out of the top 95. Indian, Japanese, Spanish, and Greek cuisine is served after it.

The top 100 kitchens in the world according to the TasteAtlas guide for 2022 have been revealed. Voting by the general public, which considered ingredients, cuisines, and beverages from each nation, led to the outcome. Do you agree with the top 10 kitchens that were chosen?

Spain is the leading country in the third-best cuisines in the world according to TasteAtlas in 2022. The Espeto, Jamón ibérico de Bellota, Manchego Curado, and Gambas à la plancha were among the specialties that received the most votes from the people.

Japan is ranked fourth among the world’s top cuisines by TasteAtlas in 2022. Ikura, Kobe steak, ramen, and garage are particularly beloved by the general populace.

5. INDIAN CUISINE

India is ranked fifth among the world’s top cuisines by TasteAtlas in 2022. Ghee, Malai, Garam Masala, and Keema are some of the delicacies that the voting public loves the most.

6. MEXICAN

According to TasteAtlas, Mexico is the sixth-best cuisine in the world as of 2022. Oaxaca cheese, Cayeta, carnitas, and chilaquiles are some of the most popular delicacies.

7. TURKEY

Turkey takes the seventh spot on TasteAtlas’ list of the top cuisines in the world in 2022. Kaymak, Aydin Inciri, and Bal Kaymak are particularly well-liked by the populace.

8. AMERICA

The United States is ranked ninth among countries with the best cuisines in the world by TasteAtlas in 2022. The public particularly enjoys Texas brisket sandwiches, Florida oranges, wild Alaskan salmon, and Honeycrisps.

9. FRENCH

France is ranked ninth among the world’s top cuisines by TasteAtlas in 2022. The creme brûlée, Mont d’Or, aoli, and Rochebaron are some of the dishes that the voting public rated as their favorites.

10. PERUVIAN

Peru’s food is ranked tenth among the greatest in the world by TasteAtlas in 2022. Leche de Tigre, algarrobina, and ceviche are particularly beloved by the populace.

Reaction of customers

Users of Twitter weren’t afraid to criticize the ratings. Some others believed that the US shouldn’t have made the top 10. Others emphasized the underrepresentation of African countries.

One user asked, “South Africa is on here, but no other African nations or the West Indies, and Italy is number what?”

One person expressed displeasure that England appeared on the list.

In response to criticism, Taste Atlas clarified how it selects the top cuisines.

People rate those dishes (not cuisines) all year long, according to their statement. “Our method recognizes some votes as being invalid, such as nationalist votes where people from one nation give their dishes high marks while giving their neighbors negative marks”.

Indian traditional dishes

The only “traditional” dish from the outside of the top 50 was Shahi Paneer from India, which came in at number 28.

Shahi Paneer from Delhi’s Kake Da Hotel achieved a rating of 4.66 out of 5 stars in TasteAtlas’ list of the world’s top meals. The ingredients for Shahi paneer, a cheese dish from Mughal cuisine, are paneer, onions, almond paste, and a hearty, spicily-flavored tomato-cream sauce. The recipe calls for Indian bread like naan, roti, or puri to be served with the dish.

The New Delhi restaurant Gulati’s Butter Chicken, on the other hand, received 4.56 out of 5 stars and finished in the 53rd position. From the top 100 “traditional” foods in the world, Dastarkhwan’s Lucknow Korma came in at number 55. On the global list, Hyderabadi Biryani (by ITC Kohenur) came in at number 71, while Vindaloo from Venite in Goa came in at number 71.
